Well, I made it. This year I attended the Wealthy Affiliate Private Super Affiliate Conference in Las Vegas. I was going to write this post earlier but I was so overwhelmed, I wasn’t sure what to write.

I already published a post about this Vegas Conference back in 2008 but  this year I didn’t only get to write about it, I was one of the few selected people who got a chance to attend this conference… and calling it a conference is a big understatement because it is so much more!

So what is this “conference” all about? Well, I’ll have to stop calling it a conference. Usually at a conference there are hundreds of people who sit and listen to a “guru” on the stage which is great but in the end it’s all it is - a conference. The WA Super Affiliate conference is more of a long (2 days long) conversation between some of the world’s best affiliate marketers who share their ideas and experiences. Everyone gets a chance to talk, everyone gets a chance to come up with some ideas to help others. This amazing event made me realize, once again, that the sure way to achieve success is by helping people!

It was an amazing experience meeting Kyle and Carson, Travis Sago the creator of BumMarketing, Jennifer aka PotPieGirl and the few others who made it to Vegas with us!

Now, it’s not all about business. Sure, we all appreciated that Kyle and Carson paid for our airfare and awesome suites at MGM Grand but I shouldn’t forget that it was a vacation as well! The owners of Wealthy Affiliate took us to new Cirque du Soleil show and of course we went there in a limo. We had an awesome party at the luxurious two story loft (where our conferences took place), we went clubbing and some of us only came back to the room at 6 in the morning… The WA Vegas conference is all about having an amazing time!

I can’t believe I haven’t updated this blog in over 5 months. I guess I was too busy; you know - the weather was nice and I didn’t want to stay home.

Well, I am back to “work”.  This Thursday (and the past Thursday) I participated in a private phone conference on internet marketing and it was really awesome!

A few guys from Wealthy Affiliate ( Andrew and Fred ) decided to do a phone conference so Andrew, as an experienced and successful internet marketer could reveal some of his techniques and could help other folks to succeed online. When I heard about it, I decided to join in and offered my help, I have been doing Internet Marketing for over two years now so I thought it would be great way to meet some new people and help them out.

There were a lot of question but I believe a lot of questions got answered, with a lot of details and everyone got tons of value from this 2 hour long call, also the fact that it was completely free of charge made this whole experience priceless for many attendees. Andrew and I even let out some of our hidden secrets; some strategies, site names and very profitable niches have been revealed. I am sure those who took notes during this phone conference might be making lots of money in the very near future (of course if the proper action is applied, simply taking notes and thinking about them is not enough )

Andrew has suggested that we make this coaching a weekly thing - so next Thursday it’s on once again! We will start with keyword research and move along the direction it’ll take. I can promise lots of genuinely valuable information that most “big boys” out there sell as the “Next Big Thing” and will charge thousands of dollars for, we do it for our personal pleasure, will to help the others and completely free of charge!

Hello, marketers!

It’s not a secret that Google likes Squidoo.com and tends to rank it high in its search results. However many people are faced with the issue of their Squidoo lens ranking high at first and then going down to second page, third page and all the way to the last page of Google search results. There is a remedy to it.

I created a lens about a year ago and I wrote an article on EzineArticles pointing to this lens. The lens got in the top 5 results in a month or so and stayed there for a while getting over 100 daily uniques from Google. Recently the lens dropped to #7 in Google and I got 173 hits from Google in 24 hours.

Yesterday I decided to update the lens to see if this will help to bring it back in the top 5. I added one single text module with 1 paragraph of text, then I used Pingoat.com to ping the lens… and today at noon I have noticed the traffic from Google increased:

Almost 100 hits more from Google and it’s only noon! After doing a Google search for the main keyword phrase, I found this lens ranking as #3 and not #7 which proves that Google LOVES updates, especially when they consist of new, unique content! I am sure this applies to all websites, blogs, hubs and lenses! So don’t forget to constantly update for your own sake!

P.S. for those who want to know the results of the traffic - 3 recurring sales and 30 opt-ins to my list so far from this one lens for today.

90% of beginner marketers fail to make their first dollar online for one simple reason - lack of action. I am a regular poster on many Internet marketing related forums and I see this happening every single day; people complaining how they spend $1000’s on courses, e-books even seminars yet they can’t make money online. Every now and then I get e-mails from folks who purchased my One Month Affiliate video course: “Alex, I followed your course, one month passed and I haven’t made a single buck online!” - then they usually proceed by telling me how they made this blog with one post and … that’s where it ends.

Well, my friends, it takes more than one blog post. I mention it in my course, on forums, e-mails and everywhere else I can - it takes effort to make money. Internet Marketing is just like any other business, it’s not going to make you money if you don’t run it properly.

First of all, you need to advertise. This is where we could see the big difference between an offline business and the online business models. The one that’s online could and should be advertised and promoted for FREE. Using blogs, article marketing, social media such as Youtube, Facebook and Twitter helps a lot! Yes, it takes time and effort but it pays off! One single 300-word article could bring thousands of people to a site and make hundreds of them purchase whatever you are selling - but you need to do the proper research and you need to write that article! It IS THAT SIMPLE.

So next time you are about to complain about not making money, ask yourself if you have done enough action to deserve that money. If your fingers are not sore from all the typing (or your wallet empty from outsourcing all the typing) then you probably haven’t done enough!

As some of you might already know, a few members of Wealthy Affiliate will be going to Las Vegas in the winter of 2009, mostly for an Internet Marketing conference - but also lots of fun! Now, the coolest thing about this trip; everything from plain tickets to the room in some of the most amazing hotels in Vegas (like MGM Grand) is paid be Kyle and Carson, the owners of The Wealthy Affiliate University. I have got my VERY first product on Clickbank! (it was about time )

To be honest, this site was launched in December 2007, I launched it with a “partner”… But the sales copy was a real mess, the product itself was not that good - however, we still managed to make a few sales…

Few months later I shut it down and decided to restart this project when I am more experienced. Well, most of you know of my online success, and I was finally able to re-do the whole video course from scratch, the sales page as well. I actually put my life story as the sales page. Through all these months I have realized that TRUTH sells best.

I noticed that many people on different forums keep asking: “What to sell” … the answer is quite simple - ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. When it comes to being an affiliate, please do not limit yourself to Clickbank, CJ and a few other affiliate based portals.

Please remember that a serious business will ALWAYS work with you, if there is an opportunity to make more money. Let me explain.

This summer I was shopping for an airfare from Montreal to London UK. I ended up buying tickets from a website called CheapTickets. Only after purchasing I started thinking: “Hmmm, cheaptickets is not an airline, so who are they?” - you guessed it, they are affiliates of many airlines. I checked out British Airways, KLM, Ryanair (to name a few) and they ALL have affiliate programs! Some offer as much as 5% commission per sale! And thousands (if not millions) of people fly daily, they all need to buy the tickets so why don’t YOU sell it to them?

In this case you do not even need to be a good salesman and convince them to buy the ticket. These customers are ready to BUY!

Wow, a lot of rant but I still didn’t get to my point. Even if the seller of a product or a service does not have the “AFFILIATE” button on their link - they will most likely work out a deal with you if you contact them. The best way would probably be a telephone. Do not be shy, phone them! Say you would like to promote their product for a small commission - most companies will go as far as hiring an affiliate manager just because of you!

Millions of people buy things online every single day; airplane tickets, insurance, computers, e-books, DVD’s, cars, houses… even private islands! So open up your eyes and start looking for opportunities.

Lately there have been lots of discussions going on about the negative and positive points of being a Clickbank’s affiliate and/or publisher. I have been an affiliate for seven months now and never really thought about publishing my own product… Well I thought of it but I didn’t actually do anything about it. And today it hit me! Here is my Clickbank Screen Shot for the month of May 2008:

As you can see, sales go up and down… I am earning almost $3000 every 2 weeks from this account, but it’s been like this for the last 4 months. Nothing surprising here - I need to move on, need to make more. This isn’t even about the money but about the challenge, I can’t believe that everything ends at this level - I have to prove to myself that I can do much better than that! So I started looking for some new products to promote - then I said to myself: “Heck, if I am going to put lots of effort into promoting someone else’s product, why don’t I create my own product and invest the effort into finding affiliates?

So this is what I am going to do. I am currently working on 2 different products; a NON-IM related e-book, and IM related video course! The e-book is ready to be published, I just need to come up with a great sales page - which actually seems the hardest to me, and the video course will be ready in few weeks, just before my trip to Europe. I will keep you updated!

Okay okay, no hype there. This is a screen shot from an old Clickbank account of mine… I used that account only when I started Internet Marketing back in 2007… I wrote few articles and then decided to start from scratch - so I created new CB account, picked different products and write new articles… Whatever products are being sold through the account you see - were promoted more than 6 months ago and I still make sales now and than, isn’t that cool?

So here is the moral of the story:

Many people bash article marketing (bum marketing) saying it’s time consuming and doesn’t pay at all… well 5 old articles bring me an extra 100-200$ every month… How bad is that? When you do a week of work at your regular job, do they still pay you for that week for the next 6 month? nope… So, even BUM Marketing is a big part of your online business - don’t forget about it and keep on typing

So it all started back in 2007… actually if you want to know more - check out my website at www.extra-paycheck.com - nothing but the truth there… Well actually when I started my Internet Marketing venture - I did not need a simple extra paycheck - I need it enough money to pay my bills.

It was tough at first. I had no idea what to do and where to start. I had no spare budget to invest in advertising such as PPC or Paid Banners… So I had to do it the hard way - also known as Bum Marketing.

I picked a few products off of Clickbank, then I made a few blogs and started typing articles like a mad man. To be honest - my first articles sucked big time. It just happens that English is my fifth language - and I am not that good at it. Sure, I can keep a conversation but there is no way I could type up a fancy sales page or a great quality article - but it didn’t bother me at all… I though - I keep pn writing and one day I will make a sale, in the end I wasn’t spending any money on it and since I was already wasting my time on youtube - I might as well do something more productive…

I still remember the feeling when I found that first 19$ in my clickbank account on October 23rd - just 8 days after I started BUM MARKETING around. This gave me enough motivation to continue… I made almost $500 that month - all pure profit!

Well… I am making more than 500$ at this point, but I will talk about it later
