Here’s A Really Profitable Niche Idea For Your Online Business

Here’s A Really Profitable Niche Idea For Your Online Business

For the past few months I’ve been concentrating on the Extra Paycheck Podcast and I haven’t published any new article, so this post is way overdue. In July I released an episode called Finding A Profitable Niche For Your Online Business* and I got quite a few emails from people asking me even more information on finding their own business ideas and niches. It’s always interesting to hear (or read about) precise examples because real life examples make things easier to understand. I have lots of hobbies and passions so I always come across different niche ideas that could be very profitable. *You can listen to this episode here:   In this post I will be sharing yet another (re-emerging) industry that could make you lots of money. And yes, that’s another hobby of mine. I am new to this industry but I am very excited about it and I am simply amazed by its potential. We’re talking about vinyl records. Yes, those old dusty disks that spin at 33-45-78 rounds per minute. No, I am not crazy.   Before we dive into the details and numbers, I’d like to give a little back story on how I came up with this niche idea. When I was a little kid we had a bunch of records at home and I loved listening to them. Then I grew up and was taken by the revolution of CDs and MP3s in early 2000. About 8 years ago I was given a crate of old records. I sold a few on eBay, I threw some in the trash and I kept several...
How To Start A Podcast – The Ultimate Guide

How To Start A Podcast – The Ultimate Guide

The Extra Paycheck Podcast was launched in April 2015 so it’s very new and fresh yet I’m already getting several questions from folks who want to start their own podcast. I am not surprised by this reaction because prior to starting my podcast I was completely clueless about this subject and I was desperate for a clear and detailed guide. I have been listening to several podcasts for a while now and I’ve always wanted to start my own show but I didn’t think it was actually possible without a huge investment. I had no idea what kind of equipment to use, how to record or edit thepodcast. I didn’t know anything about uploading my podcast and distributing it. I didn’t have a single idea how I would find guests for my show and how I would record them. I was a total newbie so I was constantly seeking helpful information on the subject of podcasting. I found great bits and pieces of information from several people and I went through a few podcasting courses yet it still wasn’t clear in my head and I felt like I simply wasn’t ready. At some point I caught myself doing what most people do – seeking perfection. I decided to take the knowledge I acquired during the 2-3 months of researching and just start! Folks, this is the first and VERY important advice when it comes to podcasting and pretty much everything else in your life: START NOW! You’ll never be ready 100% and it’ll never be perfect, this is why you must start today and make improvements along the way....
How To Create Beautiful Images For Your Product, Blog or Business For Free

How To Create Beautiful Images For Your Product, Blog or Business For Free

This blog is about marketing, business and entrepreneurship. This particular post might seem a little off-topic but I am sure it will come handy for many of my readers. If you are running a blog, starting to sell a product on amazon/etsy or doing any kind of business online you will come to a point where you would need images for your venture. Unfortunately you can’t just grab an image on Google search and use and you may not be able to hire a professional photographer to do some shots for you. But no fear, Alex is here 😉 Four Ways Of Getting Images I do a lot of stuff online and I am constantly searching for new images that I could use. There are a few ways to find images: find the free ones, buy images, hire a photographer or make your own images. 1. Finding free images is very hard because most images come with specific copyrights. Often you’d have to credit the photographer which is not always possible. If you look at Extra Paycheck homepage you would see “Recent Posts” with featured images and I simply can’t insert a credit to the creator in those images, it would also be impossible to insert a link (which is often required). Another issue is that not all free images are actually free. You may stumble upon an image on Flickr which claims to be free but in reality some random person uploaded someone else’s image to Flickr and told everyone to use it. That’s a lawsuit waiting to happen. 2. Buying images can be an option. However, if...
How Hustlers Are Making Quick Cash With Ello

How Hustlers Are Making Quick Cash With Ello

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past week you have probably heard of Ello.co, the anti-Facebook social network. The founders describe Ello as “a simple, beautiful, and ad-free social network created by a small group of artists and designers.” Launched in March 2014, the new social network made a splash in late September 2014 after a few articles about the network went viral. Some reports suggest that on Thursday, September 25th 2014, as many as 31,000 people were joining the network every single hour. Following Facebook’s controversial enforcement of real-names policy against drag queens in San Francisco, a large part of the LGBT community ditched FB for Ello, a network that doesn’t discriminate. Of course the future of the network is unknown and most people believe it will fail just like Diaspora and many others did. However, the controversy and the viral aspect attracted many new users to Ello. The fact that Ello is still in beta and is “Invite Only” attracted even more people. Now get this, some people were so desperate they were ready to do anything to become a part of the new, hip, shiny network. Each user can invite up to 5 friends, however, there are other places where you can get your invite. If you know where to look you can probably get an invite within minutes. If you don’t know where to look, you can… buy an invite. Yes, I am serious, people spend money in order to become a member of a FREE social network (hipsters gonna hip). At this point I’ve decided to check out the most obvious...

They Earn Six Figures per Month Using Your Content. Here is How.

The Internet boom didn’t end in 2000. In fact, it has only been growing, making millions of dollars for more and more people. Are you one of these successful online entrepreneurs?   I must admit that I often tell myself: “well, it’s too competitive now. I should do something else”. Many successful business people think differently. Facebook is one of the biggest examples of how “it’s too competitive” mentality is simply wrong. I remember I was very active on HiFive, then someone persuaded me to join MySpace – and I was very active there as well. When Facebook came along and someone told me to join – I did. However, I was sure Facebook wasn’t going to make it. Who can beat MySpace? Right?   Zuckerberg didn’t think: “Beh, that has been done. I should start a social network”. And guess what? The new generation of Internet users does not like Facebook. This means there is yet another chance to start something new and big. Besides Facebook we’ve recently seen a lot of recent stat-ups getting sold for ridiculous amounts of money. WhatsApp was launched in 2009 and less then 5 years later was sold to Facebook for an outrageous $19 Billion! Instagram was created in 2010 and sold to Facebook within 2 years for $1 Billion. Nest Labs (programmable thermostats and smoke detectors) started in 2010 and recently sold to Google for $3.2 Billion. Evernote, software designed to help you take notes – started a few years ago and is now evaluated at $1 Billion… many of these products came out when similar products already existed.   The...
How to Manage Your Online Business While Traveling

How to Manage Your Online Business While Traveling

I often talk about the differences between starting an online business and a traditional brick and mortar business. Cost is one of the main differences, since starting an online business is virtually free. Another amazing aspect of an online business is freedom. If you find a well-paid job or even open up your own flower shop – you are chained to that work most of the time. You can’t leave whenever you want, you can’t take a vacation whenever you want and for as long as you want and you are only paid when you are there. If you are working “for the man” you are only paid for the hours that you spend in the office. If you open up your own shop – you only make money when the shop is open. If you start an online business – you make all the decisions. You decided when to take a vacation, how often and for how long. Besides, your business is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and it’s available to almost 3 Billion internet users across the world. Sure, you’ll have to check in from time to time but you do not need to spend 50 hours a week “at work”. Today I am leaving to Europe for a pretty long trip (5 months and a half). Thank you, online business. I am planning to keep on working on my online business while traveling and this is why there are some crucial preparations that need to be done before leaving. If you follow this blog, you might remember my post: How I Ruined...
