Opinion Outpost Review – A Scam Or A Legit Opportunity?

Is Opinion Outpost A Scam?

Over the years I have signed up to several paid survey programs and unfortunately many of them turned out to be scams. The first sign of a survey scam is when they charge you to participate. Different companies pay a survey company in order to find qualified people to answer these surveys. This is why the service in itself should be free. Opinion Outpost falls into that category. Becoming their member is completely free. This company operates in the US, Canada and a few other countries.

In short, the Opinion Outpost is not a scam. But does it mean you should join them?

Making Money Online

I’ve been making money online since 2007. I am ashamed to admit that I have been a victim of numerous scams online, live and learn. This program has been my favorite for all these years and you can join it free. This is where I learned how to build a real online business. This is how I’ve been making a full time living online for the past 9 years. Job-free since 2007, YEY!

As I mentioned I tried different paid survey programs. Although most of them were pure scams, a few were legit. This Swagbucks review shows how I earned $30-$40. However you’ll see that I decided against using it. These programs aren’t worth my time and effort.

The few legit survey programs pay very little. You will spend 20-45 minutes in order to earn a $1. Imagine you spend 8 hours a day answering surveys and get paid a total of $15-$20 for that. Personally I prefer to invest this time into building an online business that pays me over and over again. If you set-up a simple blog it will earn you money regardless if you are there or not. People find your website, click on ads or decide to purchase something and you get paid. Even if you are sleeping.

Opinion Outpost Review

In the previous section I mentioned that you will get paid a dollar or so per every survey you answer. Although I think it’s a very low reward (borderline exploitation) some people might still want to go for it.

However you will not get a bunch of surveys to fill out. A few surveys per day will be available to you at best. What’s even worse is that you’ll waste a lot of time applying to these surveys. You see, the survey companies are looking for very specific people. For example, I found a survey that requires you to be a US passport holder. You must be 27-33 years old. A spouse and 2 children must be living with you. Owning property in California is a must. You must be earning between $35k and $43k per year. And the list goes on. If all of these conditions apply to you then you have the right to answer the survey.

The big problem is that it takes 10-20 minutes to answer all of these qualification questions. If at the end you’re not “qualified” (and in most cases you won’t be) you will not be rewarded for your time. You just spent 20 minutes answering personal questions and all you get is: “Sorry, you aren’t qualified for this survey”.

Does Opinion Outpost Work?

Once again, if you value your time at all you’ll probably steer clear of paid surveys. It certainly works for some people however the payout are very low. If you’re going in knowing that you’ll invest a lot of time for very little reward then it can certainly work for you.

Is Opinion Outpost Safe

I’ve looked through Opinion Outpost dashboard and a few surveys and they seem safe. Since you aren’t installing anything on your computer there isn’t a possibility of viruses or anything else. Since it is free to join you aren’t risking your own money either. This is why I can say that the opinion outpost is safe.

Opinion Outpost Reviews

I’ve been searching for long term Opinion Outpost members in order to find real reviews and feedback. The reviews are very mixed and the overall user rating seems to be at only 3 starts out of 5.

Many recent reviews state that Opinion Outpost was a lot better a few years ago than it is now. It seems like the number of surveys you qualify for went down. The payments are also reduced. One member states that 99% of the quizzes that you spend 5-10 minutes filling out will say you are unqualified.

Another member claims that their account was deactivated without warning or explanation. The worse part? They have $50 in there which never got sent to that member.

Joanne says that Opinion Outpost was good 2 years ago. However lately they’ve been offering a lot less surveys. The worse part in Joanne’s opinion is not being qualified. You answer 20+ questions, thinking you’re well into the survey, then you get a message that you don’t qualify.

Another review mentions that the time estimates are completely off. You click on a “5 minute” survey only to realize that in the end it takes closer to 30 minutes to complete it.

Final Thoughts on Opinion Outpost Paid Surveys

As I’ve said numerous times, it simply isn’t worth your time. It isn’t a scam. It is a legit company. However the earnings are low and very few in between.

If you have some free time there are many other ways to earn an extra income from home. Many companies are always looking for freelancers. You can create content, images, webdesign and a lot of other things for a payment. This could be very lucrative if you have amazing coding skills or if you’re a great copywriter.

You can also start a blog about a subject that interests you and make money off of that. You won’t become rich overnight but you can make a full-time living if you are serious about it. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing since 2007. When I started I had no clue how to set-up a website or write blog posts but these things can be learned. I recommend this free training to get you started.

  1. It does not sound like a great survey website. I have tried a few of them before but usually, they have the same issues.

I have not a problem if there are not many surveys because I do not wait in front of the computer for new ones. When I receive a new email, I log in. But answering some questions just to see later that you can not complete the survey is really frustrated

  2. I totally agree with your review of Opinion Outpost, I tried several survey sites and found the same issue you described going thru the questions and answers only to be told I did not qualify normally several times a day. Until It became not worth my time for 10 to 15 dollars a day.

I fell for several scams too over the last 10 years or so, get rich on auction sites, selling collectibles for huge profits. Until I found the site that has taught Me as well to build a website, how to construct content and to become affiliates of programs that I can write about and promote products for an income.

I have not gotten to the point it is a full-time income yet but it will in time. I also use swag bucks and found the same issue with their surveys I however never buy without logging into the site to grab a couple SB’S when I complete my purchases.

Have you found one survey site that is legit like several are but pay reasonably well? Without all the rejection? I have not.

Thank you for the excellent review. Rob

    1. Thanks for checking it out Rob.

I’ve tried a lot of survey sites and many of them have the same exact issues: very low number of surveys available and a very low pay. Most of them are pure scams though (the survey sites that actually ask you to pay them in order to become a member).

Building your own website is a much more profitable venture in my experience.

  3. This Opinion Outpost review has convinced me well enough that I shouldn’t trust this site. Although it may seem to have some advantages, I wouldn’t risk investing into this. If it isn’t a scam, then fine, but I simply don’t think that I can trust Opinion Outpost.

It may be better to find some alternative survey site. One that should be trustworthy nd worth my time.

    Thanks!

  4. Wow, that’s a good review of Opinion Outpost. Personally I’ve moved away from survey sites as you just can’t make a lot of money with them.

As you said, you have to qualify for a lot of those surveys and it seems a majority of the time you won’t qualify for the them. I was part of another survey site where it took me three months to get $50 after I first joined, but MUCH longer after that to make just $25.

I’ll stick with Wealthy Affiliate and its training on how to truly create a lucrative business that can bring you in much more substantial income over and over again.

  5. It’s a very fair review on Opinion Outpost. Survey sites don’t really attracts me. Not only does the survey comes irregularly, sometimes you”ll spend minutes answering preliminary questions only to find that you’re not qualify for the survey. It’s seriously time wasting. I’d rather do walk-in surveys that are available in my country where the payment is enough to cover your daily expenses.

    1. It definitely is a waste of time in my experience, Kenny.

I’ve heard of walk-in surveys in my city as well, those are usually conducted by Universities. However those are really rare.
