“Email marketing is dead”. You might have heard this phrase more than once over the past few years. The thing is, online marketers like trends just like everybody else. Some big shot internet marketers scrams that email doesn’t work and you should buy his new software instead. Unfortunately many followers fall for it, at least temporarily. Let’s look at real stats:
Email marketing was the biggest driver of Black Friday transactions, with 25.1% of sales originating from the marketing channel in 2015 (source)
89% of marketers say that email is their primary channel for lead generation in 2015 (source)
US marketing executives believe email alone drives the same amount of revenue as their social media, website, and display ad efforts combined (source)
Still think it’s a waste of time?
The truth is, email marketing is one of the greatest marketing channels today. People who sign up to your list are most likely already interested in you, your service or your products. The truth is, a cost of an email marketing software solution is negligible in our time and age ($10+ per month) which is great news for a new online business or a beginner online marketer. The truth is that a proper email list creates cash on demand and this income is passive (or almost).
